BLACKDOWN SAC open competition rules.  JUNIOR/ CHILD  
          
The open competition shall be fished on a measure and release basis with all fish counting.

All juniors are to fish within an adult’s supervision at all times.

Juniors are not permitted to fish for the pool money

Boundaries unless stated otherwise will be Blue Anchor Slipway to and including Minehead Town Beach

A maximum of 2 (single) hooks, one rod per angler. No trebles are permitted.

All children are to cast, and reel in their fish themselves, but can seek assistance when landing their fish

All fish are to be taken to the adjacent angler (not in the same party) in a bucket of sea water to be measured (using the witness measure), signed off and then released in front of the angler immediately. Any fish taken for the table must be dispatched immediately and tails/ fins cut in presence of the witness.

All fish to be rounded down to the nearest cm

All fish are to be measured head to tail (except rays which are measured across the wingspan)

All cards to be handed in within 45 minutes after the competition finish time.

All cards must be legible to avoid disqualification at the committee’s discretion.

Any objections will need to be in writing along with £5, presented to a Blackdown SAC Committee member within 45 minutes after the competition finish time.

Participation is entirely at the competitor’s risk. All anglers are responsible for their own safety and possessions.

Prizes will be issued upon calculation of the results in a descending order. Anyone found to be cheating will be disqualified from the current and future BSAC competitions. BSAC reserve the right to inform other parties.

Note: Bass will not count between 1st January to 30th June.

 

2017 BLACKDOWN SAC open competition rules.    ADULTS                

The open competition shall be fished on a measure and release basis in conjunction with a length to points chart

Boundaries unless stated otherwise will be Blue Anchor Slipway to and including Minehead Town Beach

A maximum of 3 (single) hooks, one rod per angler. No trebles are permitted.

All competitors are to cast, hook and land their fish unaided with only assistance permitted by net.

Fish to qualify for points must meet the B.S.A.C minimum sizes as listed below.

All fish are to be taken to the adjacent angler (not in the same party) in a bucket of sea water to be measured (using the witness measure), signed off and then released in front of the angler immediately. Any fish taken for the table must be dispatched immediately and tails/ fins cut in presence of the witness.

All fish to be rounded down to the nearest cm

All fish are to be measured head to tail (except rays which are measured across the wingspan)

Points will be calculated/ allocated back at the sign in by Blackdown SAC

All cards to be handed in within 45 minutes after the competition finish time.

All cards must be legible to avoid disqualification at the committee’s discretion.

Any objections will need to be in writing along with £5, presented to a Blackdown SAC Committee member within 45 minutes after the competition finish time.

Prizes will be issued upon calculation of the results in a descending order. Monies will be split as a result of a tie-on points. A No fish prize and raffle will also be announced.
